[작가노트]
‘한란(HANRAN)’은 설탕물과 과일 주스로 그림을 그리는 ‘부리다시 기법’(Aburidashi technique)을 이용해 열로 이미지를 공개하는 그림이다. 르네상스 시대에 건축가 브루넬레스키(Brunelleschi)가 정립한 원근법은 그동안 모호했던 자신과 세상의 상대적 위치를 명확히 했다. 이 작품은 기후변화와 정치적 압박으로 인한 자연재해에 휩싸인 ‘현재’를 태우며 ‘오늘’을 생생하게 보여준다. 이것을 당신이 ‘지금’을 이야기할 수 있는 단서로 기억하고, 미래에도 기억한다면, 나는 기쁠 것이다.

[Artist Note]
The ‘HANRAN’ is a drawing using ‘the aburidashi technique’ of drawing with sugar water and fruit juice and revealing the image with heat. In the Renaissance, the art of perspective established by the architect Brunelleschi clarified the relative positions of oneself and the world that had previously been vague. This work vividly shows ‘today’ by scorching ‘the present’ that is in the midst of natural disasters caused by climate change and political pressure. I would be pleased if you would remember this as a cue to speak of ‘now’, and recall it in the future.
