[작가 노트]
나의 일상적 시각적 경험의 ‘풍경과의 조우’를 바탕으로 육체와 물질의 관계에 대해 생각하면서, 아이코노그래피(iconography)과 물질성 영역에서 흔들리는 ‘불투명한 풍경’으로 그림을 그린다. 이것은 존재에 관한 생각이며, 상대적인 시간 및 기억과 깊이 연관되어 있다. 나는 현상의 아름다움, 신체성, 그리고 행위 때문에, 종종 블리딩 기법(bleeding technique)과 폴링 기술(polling technique)을 사용한다. 나의 그림은 보는 사람들 간 만들어진 ‘감각, 움직임, 행동을 되돌려주는 관계’이거나, 어떤 대답을 이끌어내는 ‘중립적인 장소’와 같다. 나는 아직 보이지 않는 것을 접하는 공유된 경험을 창조하기 위해 노력하고 있다.
[Artist Note]
By thinking about the relationship between body and matter based on ‘the encounters with the landscape’ of my daily visual experience, I create paintings as ‘unclear landscapes’ that are swaying in the areas of iconography and materiality. It is a thought about existence and is deeply related to relative time and memory. I often use bleeding and poling techniques to realize the beauty of phenomena, physicality, and action. My paintings are ‘a relationship that returns sensations and movements, and acts’ that are created between viewers, or ‘a neutral place’ that leads to some answers. I am trying to create a shared experience of encountering something that is not seen yet.
